As Sisters of the Humility of Mary, the heart of our commitment is a radical love and following of Jesus Christ. Mary's humility inspires us to say yes to God's call. Her fidelity to God challenges us to be a prophetic presence in today's world. Our founders responded to the needs of the time in 1854 in France with vision, courage, and generosity, eventually emigrating to the Cleveland diocese in 1864. Today, we follow in their footsteps, dedicated to peacemaking, justice, and care for Earth through a variety of ministries in education, healthcare, social service, and pastoral ministry. We number around 99 Sisters serving in Midwestern states. Others join us as Associates, and Partners in Ministry. Contact us for more information.
